Voters increasingly using mobile for coverage; Electable can help

by November 3, 2014

Mobile traffic has been increasing for years now, so it’s no surprise that a new Pew Research Center report found that 13% more registered voters are tracking campaign coverage this year compared to 2010.

The survey of 2,003 adults showed that 28% of registered voters “track political news or campaign coverage” on their cell phones. This activity is much more likely for those under 50 years of age: 43% of those 18-29, and 40% of those 30-49.

What this means for news outlets is two-fold. Not only is there a growing market for immediacy in campaign coverage, but news outlet face a growing need to have the proper technology for disseminating that content on mobile devices.

For large news outlets providing national coverage, but for local media this often poses a problem. Electable can be a powerful tool in helping outlets provide their coverage to a mobile audience.

Our white label premium feature gives outlets the ability to provide their own header and footer to the races and candidates they are covering. We can help outlets make this code responsive, to fit with our own responsive template.

Any user visiting an outlet’s content on Electable will find a user-friendly mobile design – helping local outlets expand their reach into a growing market.
